Cocoa Beach!

I’m pretty sure it’s been at least a decade since I’ve been to the beach.

Until yesterday, that is!

I’ve been in Orlando, Florida, all week for a team retreat with TEC. And was awesome! But who goes to Florida and doesn’t go to the beach? Not me, that’s for sure!

So when I booked my flights for the trip, I made sure to take a late flight so I could spend a couple of hours at the beach.

When everyone else went to the airport today to catch their flights home, I hopped in my rental car and headed east.

The day was grey and overcast, but while I love the beach, I burn, so the cloud cover didn’t dampen my day at all. I spent hours just watching the waves, digging my feet in the sand and standing in the waves.

It was amazing!

I could have spent all day, even multiple days, just sitting there and enjoying the cool air and the warm water. It was fantastic.

There was only one drawback that I had not anticipated…

We’d already checked out of our Airbnb, and I headed straight from the beach to the airport. That meant there was no opportunity for me to shower. I’d changed out of my swimwear into street clothes in a bathroom, but there were no showers.

So I spent the whole trip from Florida to Oklahoma covered in sand under my clothes. And I”m pretty sure there was a trail of sand behind me everywhere I went. It was an itchy trip home.

Totally worth it!
